Manila Center Church Ordains New Elders, Deacons and Deaconesses; Inducts Officers for Year 2012-2013

Three (3) new elders nine (9) new deacons and most of the deaconesses were ordained last Sabbath, December 3, 2011 during a short program right before the Divine Worship service.  No less Pastor Joel Sarmiento, Senior Pastor of Manila Center Church led the ordination service which also includes the traditional anointing with oil (symbolizing the Holy Spirit) as well as the dedicatory prayer.  An additional highlight was included during the service; the wearing of the coat by the elders which according to Pastor Sarmiento is a symbol of the elder’s resolve to be the best example for the church.  A new feature is the dedication of deaconesses.  According to the latest directive of the Church Manual approved during the General Conference session last 2010, all deaconesses must also be ordained since they carry as much responsibility as the deacons and the elders.  All the new ordained officers were given a white rose as token.

The induction of new officers for the year 2012-2013 followed the ordination service.  These new officers will serve for a two-year term, from 2012 to 2013.  Much is desired from the new set of officers especially as we consider the call of Pastor Ted Wilson, current President of the General Conference of the Seventh-day Adventists for a “revival and reformation” among God’s people; the theme adopted for his entire term.  The service was capped with a vow to commitment during the litany portion as well as the dedicatory prayer by Bro. Ben Carolino.
